My husband and I found our first Akita in the fall of 1990. At the time, we were looking for a large breed that was friendly, yet protective, and we fell in love with the Akita.  We soon got our first puppy from a nearby breeder. Nikko was our first Akita, and she is still very much missed today.

We have always valued our dogs as companions first, and ‘show’ dogs second.  Our dogs are a part of our family - we wouldn't have it any other way.  I have shown a bit in conformation but I have also developed a love for obedience and agility.  We  appreciate wonderful Akitas and their owners, whatever they do.  We have been participating in Akita rescue for the past few years because there is a growing number of unwanted and abandoned Akitas that need to find loving homes and a shortage of volunteers.

There is also a need to preserve the qualities that make the Akita so special to us, and to continue improving the overall health of the breed. This is not something that can be done by one person or in a short period of time. We are considering doing some limited breeding in conjunction with a few other kennels in order to help provide a good foundation for future Akitas. Our dogs have become such an integral part of our lives that we feel we need to help preserve future generations and to give something back.

Our newest additions, Ryker and Sydney, are both sound, athletic Akitas with outgoing personalities.  We are very excited to have them with us and are looking forward to the future.

Currently a member of the Akita Club of America and a member of the ACA Rescue Committee.  Past member of the Yakima Valley Kennel Club and the Apple Valley Canine Obediencc Club.
